Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has pledged that his administration will leave a legacy that will make the judicial arm of government less intimidating to the common man.

Governor Makinde made the promise during Justice Day 2020 celebration organized by the state Ministry of Justice.

The Maiden edition of the Justice Day organized by the Ministry of Justice was attended by legal practitioners, dignitaries, among whom was the state number one citizen, Governor Seyi Makinde.

In his remarks, Governor Makinde noted that the Justice Day celebration is not significant to the ministry of justice alone rather to the Judiciary as a whole.

While commending the ministry for making the Pantheon of the past Attorneys-General of the state, Governor Makinde charged all and sundries to put forward what they want to be remembered for by the next generation

While reeling out various achievements of his administration on the Judiciary, which include awarding of contract of reconstruction of High Court Complex, Ring Road Ibadan, reconstruction of a new amphitheater, reconstruction of the Magistrate Court Complex at Iyaganku Ibadan, Governor Seyi Makinde emphasized that he was able to reach the milestone through logic.

In his Address, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo, said that the four cardinal pillars of the Seyi Makinde-led administration, with the main objective of taking the people from poverty to prosperity, necessitated a paradigm shift in the implementation of the vision and mission of the Ministry of Justice to contribute effectively and make impact in the state affairs, therefore its mantra became, justice for all, all for justice.

Highlights of the Justice Day 2022 were unveiling of the Pantheon of Attorneys-General, presentation of the Law Officers Alternative Dress Code, which was granted by Governor Seyi Makinde, presentation of summary of performance and impact of Oyo State Ministry of Justice under Seyi Makinde led administration, by the PS. Ministry of Justice, by Barrister Evelyn Akintunde, and the Public Presentation and review of the Pacesetter Law Journal, by the Vice Chancellor of Kola Daisi University, Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun.

The program was attended by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, the Speaker State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, the SSG, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, among other political functionaries.
