Popular Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, professionally known as Ogogo, has been lost to the cold hands of death.
Her daughter, Kaira Taiwo, confirmed the development to all and sundry during a live session on Instagram.
It would be recalled that on Monday evening, August 17, 2026, Ogogo’s daughters, Kira Taiwo and Lima Taiwo, made emotional appeals on social media, seeking medical advice and assistance for their father who was battling stage 4 cancer.
According to Kira, doctors have said they can no longer administer chemotherapy due to his condition. The family is therefore urgently seeking alternative treatment options, including specialised medical procedures or traditional remedies.
She stressed that the family was not seeking financial donations but rather information about possible treatments that could help their father recover.
Lima Taiwo also revealed that some hospitals had refused to treat her father, Ogogo because of his stage 4 cancer, expressing her fear of losing him.
In the early hours of today, Kira broke down in tears during a livestream as she addressed a cleric who allegedly publicised details of a visit to her ailing father.
The emotional outburst followed the cleric’s reported visit to Ogogo’s location to deliver herbal remedies, after which he allegedly released a video showing what he encountered during the visit.
According to Kira, the disclosure had a devastating effect on her family, particularly an elder relative she fondly calls her “big daddy.”
She revealed that the relative was reportedly unaware of Ogogo’s health condition until the cleric’s video began circulating online. The footage eventually made its way into the family’s WhatsApp group, where relatives regularly discuss the actor’s health.
Kira said a cousin later revealed in the group chat that her “big daddy” had been left heartbroken and was crying while asking in Yoruba, “Is Taye leaving us?”
The revelation visibly overwhelmed Kira as she recounted the incident, with the actress struggling to hold back tears while describing the emotional toll the situation had taken on the family.
She also disclosed that she had found it difficult to look at the numerous pictures and videos of her father circulating online, insisting that the veteran actor did not deserve to be exposed in such a vulnerable state.
Kira expressed frustration over how details of her father’s health became public, saying the disclosure had subjected the family to additional emotional distress during an already difficult period.
Rather than confronting the cleric publicly, however, Kira said she had chosen to leave the matter in God’s hands.
Beyond the emotional pain, Kira also expressed anger over what she described as attempts by some individuals to profit from her father’s illness. She called on those involved to fear God and stop taking advantage of the family’s difficult situation.
