The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has commiserated with Ona-Ara Local Government, the people of the council and especially the families of the victims of Oke-Elesin, Amuloko auto accident which claimed no fewer than five lives on Monday.
In a statement released by the CCII President-General, Barrister Ajeniyi Ajewole, the Council expressed its sadness over the incident.
Barrister Ajewole, who sympathised with families of the victims, prayed to God to console them and give them fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
The CCII President-General also extended his prayers to the injured victims, saying God in His infinite mercy will grant them quick recovery.
It would be recalled that no fewer than five people, including a primary school pupil and her mother, lost their lives, while several others were critically injured in the fatal auto crash.
The accident which occurred on Monday morning, at at Oke-Elesin, Amuloko, in the Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Ibadan, involved two trucks loaded with soda drinks and tiles, along with two tricycles popularly known as “Keke Marwa.”
Eyewitness accounts said one of the trucks carrying tiles lost control due to suspected brake failure and rammed into another truck carrying soda drinks while the tricycles and the minibus all got caught up in the middle of the accident.
The CCII also called on motorists and other road users to be always patient, careful and vigilant on the highway while they should also ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before they put it on the road.
