Nigeria will soon cease from an import dependent nation to a sustainable producing one to reduce capital flights and boost Nigeria’s economy.

This was the fulcrum of the message of NOA at its one day sensitization programme.
The event starts with the exhibition of local products.
Some of the made-in-Nigeria products displayed are the Adire fabrics, Shear butter, herbal products, fabricating machines and free medical tests amongst others.
In his welcome address , the Oyo State Director NOA, Mr. Adedokun Kayode stresses that the programme is to revive Nigeria’s economy, boost social security, encourage local products etc.
The Director adds that “There must be a total shift, we must patronise local goods which are by no means inferior to the imported goods , The magnanimity of the president to open borders should be seen as a challenge to keen competition, improvement on what we produce and thereby puts Nigeria on high economic pedestal. By the time we patronise our own people, they will gradually come to perfection”.
In her goodwill message, the representative of Bank of Agriculture lays emphasis on the activities of Agriculture value chain and how the Bank grows the economy by creating job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.
The representative of NAFDAC maintains that “the Agency is not just a regulatory agency it is aiming at developing local products. We are doing this to place a ceiling on the over dependence on foreign products. We are only concerned about quality to safeguard the health of our people”.
Representative of the State Director of Standards Organisations of Nigeria (SON) tasks all to always look out for MANCAP logo before they purchase products. Her words “We writes standards to ensure that products are certified to be alright before they are going to the public for consumption”.
NYSC representative enjoins parents to train their children or wards to be independent since there is no more white collar jobs. He calls on the parents not to allow their children to stay jobless especially at this defining moment when lecturers are on indefinite strike. “You can help your wards and children on how to be productive and independent” He said.
Present at the programme are the representatives of various organisations which include NAFDAC, bank of Agriculture, NYSC , Community heads, markets leaders, etc.
In another development, the Director broaches on the responsibilities of a good citizen which includes performance of one’s civic rights and vote conscientiously during the forthcoming elections.
Mr. Odedokun enjoins all participants to shun money politics and other things that can be a cog in the wheels of smooth conduct of the forthcoming elections for the progress of the nation.
The participants urge NOA to continue with its political education to be well informed.
