Nigeria leaders at all levels should move away from ordinary speech delivery to serious commitments and dedication in effort to restore Nigeria’s glory globally.

The President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Barrister Ajeniyi Ajewole stated this in his press statement to commemorate the 63rd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.

Ajewole, who acknowledged the serious economic crisis facing the country, however urged Nigerians no to lose hope, but see the current situation as a teething period in the making of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, he called on government at all levels to rise up to their responsibilities of providing basic amenities to Nigerians. He charged leaders to see their political office as an avenue to pour soothing oil on the wounds of Nigerians who are dying under the heavy economic burden.

“It is an understatement to say that Nigerians are suffering, people are actually dying of hunger and other common basic amenities.

“Our political leaders should work their talk and fulfil all their electoral promises and this will go a long way to restore people’s trust in government.

“We are known to be Giant of Africa, so we should be able to cater for ourselves and even the entire Africa. God in His infinite mercy has blessed us thus, but our current situation is no longer acceptable. There is no better time for economic emancipation and breakthrough than now.” Ajewole stated.

CCII President-General used the opportunity to call for all hands to be on deck across all political parties, all arms and tiers of government, stressing that this will take dividends of democracy to the grassroots and doorsteps of the poor masses.

He charged all government policy makers to be people-oriented in their policies while calling on well-meaning individuals to help government in lessening the burden of Nigerians.

He called on all Nigerians to continue to pray for the country and its leaders, adding that their success will literally translate into the success of the entire country and the citizens.
