Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti is not backing down on dragging Wizkid FC, who described the Grammy Award winner as the “New Fela”.

During a recent Instagram live session, Seun Kuti once again expressed his utmost displeasure as Wizkid FC compares Wizkid to Fela, stressing that some even claimed that Wizkid is a bigger artiste than his late dad, Fela.

Recall that in a content previously published by Entertainment Region, Seun Kuti previously described Wizkid FC as the most ignorant fan base in the world.

Seun disclosed that labeling any contemporary musician as the “new Fela” shows a misunderstanding of his father’s legacy, noting that such claims often collapse under scrutiny.

However, music producer Samklef, who belongs to Wizkid FC, drags Seun Kuti, stressing that he is berating Wizkid FC because of his hate for Wizkid. He tagged Fela as Bald Head Vulture.

Responding to Samklef and Wizkid FC, Seun Kuti maintains that he won’t allow any musicians to compare him to his late dad, Fela.

Seun said that even though his dad, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, passed away 29-years ago, he just collected the sum of $120,000 out of nowhere simply because he is the son of the Afrobeats legend.

Deciding to hit the nerves of Wizkid FC, Seun Kuti uttered that just like the way he still makes money from his dad after his death because he was an accomplished man, Seun Kuti asked if the fathers of Wizkid FC guys can make them such an amount of money from their various graves.

In his words, “Fela’s son. Fela is still blessing me from the grave 29 years later. How many of your fathers can do that from the grave? None, because your fathers are not accomplished. Wizkid and DJ Tunez are enjoying the clout, which is why they won’t come out to say, ”Stop disrespecting Fela in my name.”

In the end, Seun Kuti made it clear that his anger is less about Wizkid as an individual and more about what he sees as a growing disrespect for Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s legacy. While the debate continues to divide fans online, Wizkid has remained silent, choosing not to respond to the controversy.

As reactions keep pouring in, the situation has once again highlighted the tension between celebrating modern Afrobeats success and preserving the historical significance of legends who laid the foundation for the genre.
