The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has joined indigenes of Ibadan and Muslims around the world in celebrating the commencement of Ramadan, a period which holds significant spiritual and communal importance for the Muslim community, calling on all muslim faithfuls to observe this holy month with reverence and unity.
The President General of the CCII, Chief Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, in a statement issued by the Publicity unit of the council, urged the people of Ibadan to use this auspicious period to pray for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of Ibadan, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
“As the Muslim faithfuls embark on their annual Ramadan fast, CCII encourages them to seek divine intervention for the various challenges facing the city, the state, and the nation”, he added.
The President General of the CCII also called on the people of Ibadan to offer their support to the government’s policies and initiatives aimed at promoting development, harmony, and progress within the community.
He emphasized the importance of solidarity with the government in its efforts to address the needs of the people and improve the overall well-being of the society.
In keeping with the spirit of empathy and compassion that characterizes the month of Ramadan, Ajewole urged the people of Ibadan to embrace the principle of being their brothers’ keeper, demonstrate acts of kindness and generosity by sharing what they have with those in need during this holy month.
The council reiterates its commitment to promoting harmony and peaceful coexistence within the community, and hopes that this period will be one of spiritual upliftment, unity, and positive transformation for all.
