Residents of Ibadan North Federal constituency have called out their outgoing House of Representatives member, Olaide Akinremi, popularly called Jagaban, for misrepresentation and accumulation of their common patrimony.
The constituents, including old, youths, traders and Monarchs, had in a report of performance index compiled by Ibadan North Forum of Good Governance, slammed the All Progressive Congress member for misrepresentation and failure to perform his duties effectively in Ibadan North Federal Constituency where he was elected to represent in 2019.
In the report compiled by Ibadan North Forum of Good Governance, signed by its President, Comrade Akinbiyi Adesola and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Saturday, the constituents accused the lawmaker of not doing enough in his service to the people in the execution of the multimillion naira projects earmarked for the constituency in 2020 federal budgetary provisions.
According to the group, Ibadan North Forum of Good Governance, the budgetary provisions include:
* Ecological challenges and erosion control in Ijokodo… N37M
* Training for cassava processing for women and youth in Ibadan North … N87M
* Construction of township road in Ibadan North Local Government.. N200M
* Construction of classrooms and provision of furniture… N200M.
Adesola said it was pertinent note that all the projects were only in the year 2020 when national budget performed 100%. He stressed that Jagaban should be banned from representing the constituency because of lack of capacity, transparency and accountability.
“Now, the million dollars question begging for answer is: where are those projects with cost justification?
“Of course, Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban has not provided us with a justified answer till date.
“It sounds very outlandish that Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban, a member of federal House of Representatives has not granted a single interview since his assumption in office in 2019 till date, despite many calls for a debate on radio and televisions.
“It is in this wise that the good people of Ibadan North Federal l Constituency must get it right this time around by voting out Hon. Akinremi Jagaban and vote in a highly cerebral person, someone who will be accountable and responsive to the yearnings and aspirations of his constituents.
“It is crystal clear that Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban is only representing himself at the House of Representatives and not the good people of Ibadan North.
“Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban doesn’t deserve a re-election and should be shown the way out as he has primitively accumulated our common patrimony.” Adesola stated.
