A pan-Yoruba grassroots sociocultural organization, Ibadan North Forum has described the present lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as the “worst in history”.

Addressing journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Saturday, the group coordinator, Ishola Akinmorin berated Honourable Olaide Akinremi who is also called Jagaban for not being honest with the people he represents over the years.
Akinmorin stated that they waited and believed there will be a change, but it’s crystal clear that all the best had been offered and further requesting Hon. Akinremi (Jagaban) to explain to the wonderful people of Ibadan NORTH federal constituency how he has spent over 900 million Naira allocated to his office for people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
The group also said the present legislator at National Assembly has failed the indigenous people of the federal constituency and insisted that he should be voted out at the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Akinmorin said, “Since the emergence of the present House of Representatives member, the federal constituency has continued to be shamed and short-changed.
“We are not genuinely represented in any sphere at the Green Chamber in all affairs.
“There are many questions that need to be asked and require urgent answers for the public to be well-informed, how and where did our money go because we are yet to feel any representation from the side of the government headed by Hon. Akinremi (Jagagban). We have fundamentally been denied our rights all these years, we hereby demand to know where and how funds have been managed.
“We seek the indulgence of the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives to tell us where he spent the following funds:
“Ecological funds given to the tune of thirty-seven million naira (₦37M) directed to curb erosion control in Ijokodo.
“Eighty-seven million naira (₦87M) directed and released for the Training for cassava processing for women and youths in Ibadan North Federal Constituency
“200 million naira for the construction of a township road in IBNLG, and no road up to a kilometer was constructed nor graded by the lawmaker.
“200 million naira for the construction of classrooms and provision of furniture.
“Let it be known that all of the above requests were only in the 2020 budget when the national budget performed 100%. The question is where are those projects with cost justification?”
The coordinator further stated that the masses are tired of ghost representation, adding even at the close of the election the lawmaker has refused to appear publicly despite many calls for a debate on radio stations and public town hall but rather used “our constituency funds to buy his way from public matters. We have been cheated long enough and we want an explanation for all the requests above for clarity as the general election is fast approaching.”
