Ibadan Football Association (IFA),has underlined its determination to win the Governor Seyi Makinde Pre-Season soccer championship as it launches a twin-attack by presenting two teams to the annual tournament.

The Association also boosted the morale of the teams with cash donations of #40,000 to the two teams for refreshments.

The two teams presented by the soccer body are DON FA and YOUNG STARS FC which are presently ranked first and second on the IFA League table.

Barr. Rotimi Alli said in a chat with IFA MEDIA that both teams were selected as a result of their outstanding performance so far in the 84 -year old League.

While reiterating his Association’s commitment to providing a platform for teams with remarkable qualities to showcase their talents, Alli noted that the donations of #40,000(Forty thousand naira ) to both teams for refreshments was to further show the Association’s support to the teams and boost their morale in the one week Competition.

He charged DON FA and YOUNG STARS FC to be of good conduct during the Competition and surpass the third position of the five-day old IFA selected side of 2019. In 2019,IFA hurriedly put together a selected side within five days and the team named Ibadan Lions defeated Crown FC and finished third position in the Competition.

“I want you to surpass the third position feat of Ibadan Lions in 2019. We are banking on you and we believe you can do it . You are from the oldest, biggest grassroot football Platform in West Africa, which means you are among the best grassroot football teams in West Africa.
Go there and prove yourselves.
There’s no stopping you”,he declared.

He announced that the IFA League would be on hold for the duration of the championship.
