The President General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII Chief Barr Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole led other executive members, Ibadan Baales and Mogajis to Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija area of Ibadan and insisted that those that brought such monumental disaster on the land must face the consequences.
Chief Ajewole, while leading others on inspection of the affected areas described the incident as heartbreaking and collosal, urging the people not to ever keep quiet on matters and developments suspected to be capable of destabilizing the peace of the town henceforth.
Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole and his team who were received by the leader of the Rescue Team put in place by the state government, Prof. Temitope Alonge and Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adewumi Ajetumobi wondered why a peaceful environment could suddenly be reduced to ruins in a matter of minutes due to some careless activities.
The President General prayed that such disaster would not befall Ibadan land again.
He expressed the team’s solidarity with the Governor of the State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr Mohood Olalekan Balogun Alli Okunmade II and the entire people of Ibadanland at this trying period, commending the timely and sustained interventions of the state government in particular to cushion the impact of the disaster.
Chief Ajewole also led the team to the home of Oba Kola Adegbola who also had his car and building affected by the explosion, the team empathizes with the Octogenarian King and appreciated God for making the effect minimal on him and his property.
Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole, alongside Ibadan Baales and Mogajis also paid a thank you visit to the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Adegbola Hamzat for promptly mobilizing his men and materials to the scene and professionally conducting their affairs at the site.
The Commissioner of Police who expressed his sadness over the incident assured the people of Oyo state of adequate support from the police at all times.
