As the country has voted in new crops of leaders as a fallout of the last elections, those leaders have been advised to approach governance from the viewpoints of common good as Islam suggests.

The call was first highlighted in the welcome address of NOA Director, Kayode Odedokun, who maintained that getting good governance is a joint task between the leaders and the lead. The Director added that ” in order to get a Nation we desire, we must also contribute our quotas as citizens without let or hindrance “.
Mr Odedokun charged the citizens to grapple with their constitutional rights and responsibilities and support government at all levels to realise its dreams.
The lecturer , Ustaz Waiz Apooyin dipped into the Holy Quran to exhort leaders on good governance that has become unobtainable so far due to unresolved sectoral challenges beseting the Nation. He asked the audience to be the judge if the country has prospered?
Sheik Apooyin, charged people to desist from ethno-religious sentiments .
He emphasised thee requirements of leadership according to the holy quran as ” Competence,capability and Charistma” ,He therefore advised the leaders to govern according to the order of Almighty Allah.
Earlier, In his own goodwill message, the chief imam of Federal Secrariat , Sheik ,Bashir Suleiman harped on mutual Co existence , religious tolerance, justice and fear of God to seek the face of God and get the divine intervention at this time.
In the same vein, the representative of the Comptroller of Oyo state road Safety, enjoined the Muslims to be good ambassadors of peace and good governance to the nation.
The chairman of Oyo state Youth Council, Comrade quadri Abdulsalam , also preached religious tolerance and enjoined all to work in harmony avoid divisive tendencies that can impugn good governance.
The programme which attracted the presence of cream- de- la creme ,in the Society, community and Islamic leaders and government functionaries also featured quranic recitation, national prayers and rendition of praises to God.
