The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar III, has commissioned the Organization of Tadamul Muslimeen, Adogba Mosque Ibadan.
The Amirul-mumeen of Nigeria performed the grand commissioning during a special programme held at the premises of the Mosque, Iwo Road, Ibadan.
In his address, the Sultan of Sokoto, who sued for religious harmony among religions, showered encomiumes on Governor Seyi Makinde for fulfilling the promise made to rebuild the mosque with his own personal funds in which Allah rewarded with a landslide victory in the last election.
The Sultan however charged the Muslim ummah to imbibe the spirit of maintance culture and ensure the edifice maintains its fineness for years.
Also in his address the governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who appreciated the Muslims in the state for standing by his government, stressed that his government took the decision to demolish and rebuild the Mosque to achieve accelerated development of the state.
While reiterating that his government has been able to take care of physical and stomach infrastructure with prompt payment of the state workers salaries, he maintained that edifice would pave way for believers when they meet their maker, adding the mosque will aslo serve as a place thank Allah for His grace.
Earlier in his remarks, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Makanjoluola eulogized Governor Seyi Makinde for propagating Islam from his personal purse despite being a Christian. He charged other leaders to emulate the virtues and become source of blessings to other religions.
In his Sermon, the chief Imam of Oluyole Estate and its environs, Shiek Mudathir Bada harped on the importance of fulfilling promises made, as it would prompt Almighty Allah to bless and also forgive ones past, present, future sins.
The Mosque, built with the state of the art facilities with Islamic school, islamic center can conveniently accommodate thousands of worshippers at a time.
