The commercial tricycle and motorcycle operators, owners, and repairers under the umbrella body of Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Oyo State chapter has congratulated the state governor, Seyi Makinde on his second anniversary as the governor of the state.

The association commended the governor for his outstanding performances in his bid to move the state from poverty to prosperity.

ACOMORAN, in its congratulatory message signed by the Chairman, Comrade Solomon Olugbode appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for not reneging on his electoral promises to the people of Oyo State. He acknowledged the effort of Governor Makinde in changing the face of the state through unparalleled massive infrastructural development.

Comrade Olugbode also applauded the state governor for providing enabling environment for the operation of okada and tricycle operators in the state.

ACOMORAN Chairman, while assuring Governor Seyi Makinde-led government of total support of the association, especially in ensuring that the state maintains its pace setting status, appealed for the government’s recognition as an independent transport union.

He called on government to see ACOMORAN as one of the critical stakeholders in the state’s transport sector by giving them autonomy to enable them contribute to the expansion of revenue base of the state through payment of tax and issuance of clearance.

Comrade Solomon, while describing members of the association as responsible and law abiding people that always seek for the progress of the state, stressed that the autonomy when given will assist in checking the excesses and unruly behaviour of some some non members who parade themselves as members to blackmail the association.

He implored the operators to be peaceful in their conduct and be law-abiding in their work. He charged them to consider safety as number one priority whenever they are on the road.
