As muslims in Nigeria and all over  the world celebrate this year’s Eidul-Fitr,  a prominent Ibadan-based Islamic Cleric,  Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has charged the country’s leaders to urgently traslate their words into action in order to save the country  from the precipice occasioned by the current security challenges in the land.

Olagoke, who is the Founder and   Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Wakajaye, Ibadan, in his Eid’L Fitri message titled “Work The Talk” and made available to newsmen, gave the charge against the backdrop  of insecurity, corruption, general loss  of lives and property, poverty, hunger and diseases in the country.

According to him, “we must change from the ordinary ‘Talk Shop’ to that of “Working the Talk” as change agents for necessary transformation.”

He said: “for Nigeria disease and corruption not to drive us into the precipice of political and hatred-base agitation for restructuring, challenge and threat of secession, Nigerians and her government must act on the 7-Point Reform Agenda of the Youth Peaceful Protesters silenced.”

He admonished religious leaders on the need to live exemplary lifestyles and teach the scripture on Peace, Justice, Equity, Security, Sustainable Development and peaceful co-existence.

The Islamic cleric also urged parents to ensure good parenting so as  to produce real future leaders for the society while the Traditional Rulers must resuscitate Culture of self-esteem and integrity.

“Academic Institutions and Professional bodies must be engaged in Research for restoration of lost values while government and the rich must institutionalize the concept of philanthropy and Inclusive Society for a better social order of Peace, Security, Wellness of the people and tranquility of the minds, unity and accelerated development”, he concluded.
