The Oyo State Head of Service, Alhaja Amidat Agboola has reiterated the commitment of the present administration in the state to the promotion of efficient civil and public service.

Alhaja Agboola stated this in Ibadan while declaring open, a two day strategy retreat for board members and management staff of Oyo State Housing Corporation.

The Head of Service who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, Alhaji Nafiu Oladehinde assured that government would remain faithful to all the ideals that would position the service for effective delivery.

According to Alhaja Agboola, training and retraining of workers, prompt payment of salaries, promotion as at and when due would continue to receive adequate attention of the government.

She commended the Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal for giving adequate priority to the welfare of the workers of the corporation.

The Head of Service recalled that since the chairman assumed duties, he has organized series of training for the workers among other packages to enhance productivity.

She called for greater collaboration between the workers and political leadership of the corporation for maximum success.

In his remarks, the chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal said,he believed in the training and retraining of the workforce to expose them to latest development in the discharge of their duties.

According to him, the world had continued to move at a faster speed with evolving technology. He stressed that failure to catch up with the changing world would be disastrous.

Barrister Lawal drew the attention of the participants to the stiff competition in the estates industry, saying unless the workers are attuned with the modern and efficient ways of doing things, the Corporation might be left behind.

A statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corporation, Barrister Kunle Sanni, said the chairman, while expressing his appreciation to Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for providing enabling environment for workers to be at their best, urged participants and workers in general to reciprocate the gesture by improving on their productivity.

The statement said the two day retreat tagged: “Strategy Retreat Sessions“, was jointly organized by Oyo State Housing Corporation and Prestel Consult and held at the University of Ibadan.
