A stalwart of the Oyo state chapter of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), Mr Peter Abidemi Olaoluwa popularly called PAO on Thursday met with elders, leaders and former elected officers across Afijio local government.

The meeting held at Afijio local government APC office, Jobele, had in attendance Pa Adegbite, former Afijio Council Chairmen which included Hon Remi Adeniyi, Hon Tunde Ojo, Hon Samuel Olorode, former Deputy Leader, Hon Leke Oyatokun among other leaders.

Speaking at the meeting, Pa Moses Adegbite expressed his joy of witnessing an indigene of Afijio local government trying to take the mantle of leadership in the state.

He said Afijio local government is long overdue in ensuring that it also takes the lead in politics and governance of Oyo State.

Pa Adegbite urged the people at the stakeholders meeting to support the quest of Peter Abidemi Olaoluwa when it is time, adding that this will be the second time the local government will be making attempts to such.

Also, former council chairmen, Olorode, Adeniyi and Ojo in their various comments said they are more than ready to support the aspiration of Peter Abidemi Olaoluwa and call for concerted efforts by all to ensure the ambition becomes a reality.

The former chairmen said Afijio remains one a leading council not only in Oyo State but Nigeria hence the need to also give an indigene of the local government an opportunity to lead the state.

Other speakers at the parley emphasized the need for stakeholders across the local government to work together for the benefit of the area.

Earlier, Peter Abidemi Olaoluwa who spoke through an aide, Joseph Ademola Dopamu thanked leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting and promised to lead with the fear of God.

Dopamu added that the vision to aspire to govern was divine and backed by the people of Oyo State in order to move the state forward for the benefit of all.
