The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, the Aje Ogungunniso -1 has joined his ancestors.
The revered First Class monarch, 93, joined his ancestors early today, Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.
Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji was born on 26th of August, 1928 and was enthroned on 4th of March, 2016 as the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland.
According to the statement by Personal Assistant/Director of Media and Publicity, Adeola Oloko, the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 joined his ancestor during a brief illness and will be buried today according to Islamic rites at his Popoyemoja, Ibadan Palace.
The statement added that the late monarch is survived by his wife, Olori Rashidat Ololade Adetunji, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
