Ibadan Mega Voice (IMV), a body of renowned Ibadan indigenes who are into professional media practice has described the death of Ibadan-born legendary poet, Olanrewaju Adepoju as a great loss to Ibadanland and the entire Oyo State.
The President of IMV, Comrade Kolawole Olomide, in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen on behalf of IMV, urged all and sundry, especially family members, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Alli Okunmade II and the Olubadan Advisory Council to accept Olanrewaju’s demise as the will of God.
“It is with deep sadness and regrets that Ibadan Mega Voice (IMV), the assemblage of the Ibadan born Media practitioners, expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family and the entire Ibadanland and entire Media practitioners on the passing of the distinguished Yoruba poet and musician, Chief Olanrewaju Adepoju.” Olomide stated.
IMV president extolled the deceased and acknowledged his significant roles in promoting the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland in particular and Yorùbáland generally.
Aare Olomide, who conveyed IMV’s profound grief on the loss of the talented and globally celebrated artist, expressed optimism that late Olanrewaju’s works will continue to impact lives regardless of his death.
Olomide also extended IMV’s commiseration to the entire Ibadan Media practitioners while urging them to take solace in the fact Baba Olanrewaju’s contribution to the industry will forever remain indelible.
The association prayed for the reposed of the soul of Alhaji Moshood Olanrewaju Adepoju, asking almighty Allah to grant him Al-jannah Fridaoz.
