Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has left the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) headquarters in Abuja.

He had arrived at the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) command at Guzape as early as 10:20 a.m. and left around 11:15am.

The police had invited Ajaero to the IRT on August 20 at 10 am over allegations of terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony. Although he was unable to attend on that date, Ajaero promised to honour the invitation today.

Ajaero was accompanied by Femi Falana, SAN, Marshal Abubakar, Deji Adeyanju, and some senior officials of the NLC.

Speaking after returning to the NLC headquarters, Ajaeror thanked all members of the union for the solidarity shown.

He said; “I want to thank everyone of you – all comrades in the state commands. Comrades, a labour movement is worth dying for because of patriotism and commitment.

“The labour movement is one of the biggest pan-Nigerian organizations, our patriotism from the state of the colonial government to the period of the military is unshakeable. We are more patriotic than any organization you can think of in this country and we are going to be that.

“We have gone there and we are back. I just want to confirm to you as a citizen that we have gone there and we are back. You can’t do this job without this kind of hazard, it is expected.” he said.
