The Snr Pastor of Grace Nation International, Dr. Chris Okafor has declared that the recent restructuring activities in the ministry was long overdue, stressing that the church needs to be cleansed.
It would be recalled that Dr. Okafor earlier this year laid off some staff and members of the church administration due to misappropriation of church funds, embezzlement, padded contracts amongst other unethical practices.
Dr. Okafor said: “when issues like this happens in the church, we expect everyone involved to change and repent accordingly but some of them after being caught in one ungodly act or the other and they show no sense of remorse and readiness to change, the church has to lay them off.
The man of God stated further:
“When auditors came around, we discovered that some contracts padded, invoices doctored and prices inflated. Usually the church’s practice is make them go through internal disciplinary measures and corrections because we believe people can change, but when it becomes unbearable and too constant, the church has to take a decision.
“It will shock you that some members of staff are also caught in illicit romantic relationships, and we have physical documents to prove all these claims.
“Meanwhile it has come to the attention of the church that some people, who are obviously affected by the church’s decision to instil discipline and re-enthrone integrity, have been going around to spread unfounded rumour to tarnish the image of the church.”
The Prophet hereby warns those who are going around to cast aspersions on the intergrity of the church to desist from it before they land in trouble.
“We warned them to desist from this ungodly act as the church will not hesitate to make public arrest and prosecute anyone caught.
“We have committed them to the hand of God and we pray that God touches their heart for repentance before it is too late, otherwise they shall be made to face the full wrath of the law”. Dr. Chris firmly stated.
