Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has assured the people of the state that he will continue to serve them till the last minute of the present administration in office irrespective of the politicking nature of the system.
Governor Makinde gave the assurance on his resumption to office after three weeks of annual leave.
The convoy of Governor Makinde arrived at the Governor’s office premises at exactly 2:02pm, and he was pleasantly received by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal; the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun; the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Fadeyi; the Head of Service, Alhaja Ololoade Agboola; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi; commissioners and political appointees among others.
In his remarks, the elated Governor, said no vacuum was felt while he was away from office and this has demonstrated that affairs of the present administration in Oyo State is being run by a strong team, fortified with strong men.
While extolling the virtues his deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal, who presided over the affairs of the state as Acting Governor in the last three weeks, Governor Makinde, also appreciated the entire people of the state for their commitment, responsibility and loyalty to his Government, even in his absence.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Deputy Governor noted that the responsibilities of handling the affairs of the state were enormous.
He appreciated the Governor for the confidence reposed in him and people of the state for their cooperation.
Special prayers were offered for the Governor and the State at large by the chairmen of pilgrim welfare boards ( Muslim and Christian wings) Professor Sayed Malik and Bishop Ademola Morakinyo respectively.
