Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has called on the religious leaders and other people in position of authorities to ensure justice and equity prevail in their dealings with the people.
The governor made the call while hosting the Elders’ Association of Ahmadiyya, Nigeria, led by their National President Alhaji Abdul-Waheed Adeoye, who paid him a courtesy visit in his Office
The leadership of the Elders’ Association of Ahmadiya, Nigeria, led by their National President Alhaji Abdul-Waheed Adeoye, was received by the State Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo-Lawal on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde.
In his address, Governor Makinde admonished the Muslim ummah to always exhibit the good virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, adding that everybody shall be rewarded according to his deeds.
While commending various supportive and humanitarian programmes that the state had enjoyed through the association, Governor Makinde charged them to support the state government in creating more awareness of Hajj rites to the intending pligrims prior to their journey to Saudi Arabia.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Abdul-Waheed Adeoye said the purpose was to inform the governor of activities lined up for their Annual Convention in Ibadan, the state capital.
Alhaji Adeoye also hinted that Ahmadiya Society in its magnanimity had rendered humanitarian services to the state, including provision of solar power to rural areas, building of hospitals, schools, and visitations to correctional centers among others.
