The theme for this year’s event is “Talent Beyond Entertainment Industry”, coming up on Sunday, 12th November 2023 at Lafia Hall and Apartments in Ibadan.
MC Handsome, who charged government at all levels not to take talent discovery and appreciation with levity, said ‘philosophy opines that talent is as old as human being and every individual is talented in one way or the other, therefore all every individual is created with one talent or the other.’
Apart from being an award-winning media personality with many appreciable plaques to his credit, Oyetayo is also a dedicated team player among colleagues in the industry.
MC Handsome is a sole convener of annual show called “Lowo Ọlọhun Day”, a special day sets aside to celebrate the
Supreme God, Creator of talents, people who nurture and support talents without leaving the well-wishers behind.
In his words: “Talent is divine, I urge the three tiers of government – local, state and federal to work assiduously in discovering more talented citizens and rewarding them hugely”.
He further advised both state and federal governments to establish a board or ministry that will oversee talent affairs without being biased, stressing that such activity shouldn’t be limited to individuals working in the office or artistes alone, but has to be extended to those engaging in menial jobs, such as carpenters, bricklayers, tailors, drivers, housekeepers, painters, welders, plumbers, business owners and many other artisans.
According to him, establishing such agency will definitely create job opportunities, alleviate poverty, give birth to more talented individuals and bring avalanche of successes to the society at large.
He equally charged the talented people not to relent in their personal efforts and rekindle their hope in God, the source of talents for better tomorrow.
