The sociopolitical organization that supported the aspiration of Senator Kola Balogun of Oyo South Senatorial District for the 9th National Assembly, Providence Coalition has called on other legislators and public office holders to emulate Senator Balogun because his sterling performance and spirited servant-leadership approach to public service have truly distinguished him, beyond the common appellation of ‘Distinguished’ we call all Senators.

According to a statement released by the Publicity Secretary of the group, Senator Kola Balogun has been exemplary in his conducts, services and human relations. He has reached out to his people, both low and high, rich and poor and has made great impacts in just two years

The President of Providence Coalition, Prince Niran Adeyoju said: “Senator Kola Balogun deserves all the accolades for what he has accomplished in just two years at the National Assembly and we are very proud of him. He listed the senators achievements to include the following:

He sponsored four bills, including the Vigilante Bill;

He co-sponsored five bills, including the Bill for an Act to Establish a Commission for Electoral Offences;

He raised three motions, including motion for ‘Urgent Need to Upgrade Status of the Ibadan Airport From Local to International Airport’, he also supported three motions;

He facilitated nine financial empowerment schemes, including Covid-19 NIRSAL loan that reached about 400 beneficiaries with ₦350 million in the district;

He facilitated 30 solar-powered street lights which include those of Oke-Agala Estate in Ibadan North Local Government;

He drilled solar-powered boreholes, including the one in Ibadan NECO Office;

He facilitated the reconstruction of foir blocks of the classrooms with library, solar-powered offices and restroom, including Oje-Igosun Community Primary School;

He rehabilitated four roads – two in Ibarapa and two in Ibadan covering four Local Governments Areas in the district, including the popular BCJ to Gbekuba Road;

He also supplied study materials to some Community Primary Schools in the District;

He made donation of food items, stipends and other personal palliative efforts, including many of those faith-based festivals;

He facilitated Federal Government employments, promotions and reinstatement of many in the District.

He poke in defense and welfare of his constituents many times, including the customs invasions and seizure of bags of rice and money from Bodija and Oja’ba markets in Ibadan.

According to a statement signed and made available to newsmen by Publicity Secretary of Providence Coalition, Mr. Rotimi Johnson, popularly known as Ojasope, the group said “We are proud of our darling Senator Kola Balogun and we pray God grants him more wisdom, grace and vibrant health for greater impacts as he proceeds to the second half of this term.
