Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has issued tracker devices to no fewer than 47,000 commercial tricycle operators in the state, the agency also announced generating over N393 million from the sale of the devices.

The Managing Director of KAROTA, Baffa DanAgundi disclosed this to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday while briefing them on the activities of the agency.

He said the figure was out of the 65,000 tricycle operators who registered with the agency to be issued with the digital device, stressing that issuance of the tracker was necessary as it was being used to monitor the movement of tricycle operators in the state.

“The issuance of the device is assisting the agency in monitoring the movement of tricycle operators as anyone who commits any offence is easily to tracked down.

Dan’Agundi noted that the agency had instilled discipline among its personnel as he hardly receive complaint from members of the public on the attitude of his officers who ensure that traffic rules and regulations are strictly adhered to on the roads within the city and its environs.

“Since I assume duty as the Managing Director of the agency, I always give emphasis on training and retraining of our officers and that has yielded good result as we hardly receive complaint of wrong doings from the public. He stated.
