All roads led to Olusoji Compound Ode-Aje, Ibadan as Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr., Senator) Mohood Olalekan Balógun Alli (Okunmade II) installed Alhaji Abdurafiu Bolatito Akinyemi as Mogaji of the family compound on Monday 8th May, 2023.

Bola Akinyemi, as fondly called by his admirers, was unanimously picked by all family members and approved by Olubadan-in-Council to be the family head of Olusoji Compound, Ode-Aje, Ibadan.

Bola Akinyemi, sufficiently educated and highly cerebral, is trustworthy and honest to a fault. He possesses all the qualities of a future Olubadan.

He is also a very rare-breed politician. He was the Administrative Secretary of the Accord Party. He once contested primary election to represent Oluyole Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives but lost.

Bola Akinyemi held different appointed positions from different administrations since the return of democracy in 1999.

According to Ibadan traditional chieftaincy system, the position of Mogaji is the first step towards the throne of Olubadan, hence every Ibadan Mogaji is a potential Olubadan.

As a result of the undisputedly the best Ibadan kingship system, every Ibadan Mogaji rises through the chieftaincy ladder and also acquire wealth of experience for years before getting to the throne. The system always has ways of preparing a potential Olubadan for the future.

And that’s why it is always said that “Mogaji Ibadan bi Ọba ibòmíràn ni”, meaning that an Ìbàdàn Mogaji is equivalent to a king of another town. This is due to the wealth of experience they acquire before mounting the throne of their forebears.

With the installation of Bola Akinyemi as the Mogaji of Olusoji compound, Ode-Aje, Ibadan, and considering his level of education and exposure, it is believed that he will contribute immensely to the league of Mogajis in Ibadan.
