Head of the Department of Voter Education and Publicity Imo State INEC, Emanuella Ben-Opara, who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Owerri on the level of preparations for the Saturday’s Governorship election in the state, noted that the Commission got assurance from NURTW, earlier before now, as she added that the body is not part of the labour union.
Ben-Opara stressed that all materials have already been deployed to the twenty-seven INEC Local Government Offices, and vehicles hired from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are on-site to facilitate the transportation of personnel and materials to all polling units.
The Imo state head of the Department of Voter Education and Publicity, informed that all Registration Area Centers have been activated for the onward deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive materials tonight.
While revealing that security agencies have identified all flash spots for the peaceful conduct of the elections, Ben-Opara appealed to residents not to entertain any fear, as security agencies have promised to provide a conducive environment throughout the entire process.
