As part of the activities marking year 2021 Balogun Ibikunle Day, the Executive Chairman, Ibadan North West Local Government, Honourable Rahman Adepoju commissioned Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Security Post situated within Balogun Ibikunle’s Compound.

The security post was donated by Balogun Ibikunle Dynasty under the leadership of Chief (Rear Admiral) Adetokunbo Akintola (Rtd), the Gbonka-Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland who is also the Mogaji of Balogun Ibikunle Dynasty home and abroad.

During the occasion, Hon. Adepoju appreciated the Balogun Ibikunle Dynasty for the kind gesture coming at the right time. He advised other Mogajis and Baales within Ibadanland to emulate the gesture in other to compliment the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde in securing lives and properties of the people of Oyo State.

The council boss also charged all the good people of Oyo State to always call 615 whenever any security challenge arises.

In his speech the Gbonka-Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Akintola said the Balogun Ibikunle family decided to provide this Security Post to improve the level of security of lives and properties of the people of the community and its environs by bringing security personnel to the doorsteps of the people for quick response and intervention whenever there is breach of security in the community.

Also in his remarks, the Oyo State Commandant of NSCDC, Michael Adaralewa commended all sons and daughters of Balogun Ibikunle for the donation of Security Post within their compound. He further informed the gathering that the state Command of the NSCDC has posted fine officers that will work diligently at the new Security Post.

A statement signed and released by the Information Officer, Ibadan North West Local Government, Folashade Oduola, stated that dignitaries who graced the occasion included Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Adeoye (Rtd), the President-General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Yemisi Adeaga, Councillor of Ward Four, Ibadan North West LG, Adeleke Sikiru and many descendants of Balogun Ibikunle Dynasty, among others.
