The All Progressive Congress (APC) National chairman, Alhaji Abudliah Ganduje has said the party would restructure itself from the Ward level to the federal level for it to attract more members.
The National chairman stated this today at its Oyo State Party Secretariat, Oke Ado during an official assignment to the state.
Speaking further, Alhaji Ganduje appreciated the state APC for the job well done during the last electioneering period that led to the emergence of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his remarks, the Apc chairman in oyo state, Isaac Omodewu has said the oyo state chapter of the All progressive congress is yet to be duly compensated for the work they did for the emergence of the incumbent president of the federal republic of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the electioneering season.
“As events which heralded the last general election are still fresh in our memory, we must inform you that Oyo APC remains an unsung hero because we got little support but we delivered beyond expectations. In spite of the fact we had no sitting governor in Oyo, electioneering was quite challenging as we had to face a lot of hostilities from the PDP government in the state as sponsored thugs attacked our members on many occasions. The same PDP hoodlums did not spare all our campaign facilities including billboards, vehicles, buildings among others which they attacked and destroyed at will. All these attacks were documented and reported but unfortunately, the same people behind the attacks are now the one laying claim to our hard-earned victory at the February 25 poll. We have our records and we are using this medium to make a passionate appeal to your Office to launch a probe into the whole matter with a view to establishing the truth. As it stands today, we not getting fair treatment but we remain hopeful that things would change for the better.”
Meanwhile, Ganduje had earlier paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Senator Mohood Olalekan Balogun Alli okunmade II, and the recuperating Governor of Ondo State, Arakurin Rotimi Akeredolu
However the visit became sour as some members of the party who are believed to be supporters of the party’s governorship candidate in the last election, Teslim Folarin began to shout ‘FOLARIN’ and started to pelt sachets of water at party national chairman and his entourage as they were about leaving the party Sectariact.
One of the protesters who preferred anonymity and spoke off camera made it known that they are against the choice of the minister selected in the state, stressed that the National APC has ruined the party in the state through its romance with Governor Seyi Makinde who is a major opposition to the APC in Oyo State.
