Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape representing Atiba State Constituency in the Ninth assembly has empowered his constituents with cash and items worth millions of naira.

Distributing the empowerment materials like sewing machines, power generating sets, grinding machines, sprayers, school sandals and cash worth millions of naira to the constituents at Oke-Olola Primary School in Oyo, Honourable Alarape said the gesture was demonstration of his willingness to give back to his constituents who were selected across the 10 wards that make up Atiba State Constituency.
The former Speaker, who is now the Minority Leader of the House revealed that that there were promises he made during the electioneering, stressing and it is now time to fulfill his promises to his people who stood by him to ensure his victory at the poll.
Meanwhile, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Atiba/Afijio/OyoEast/West Federal Constituency, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi who attended the event to give solidarity to the state lawmaker, commended Alarape for putting smiles on the faces of his constituents especially when economy is biting hard on everybody, adding that the lawmaker’s gesture indicated the ethos of Omoluabi that he is well renowned for.

In similar vein, another Oyo-born lawmaker who represents Oyo East/West State Constituency, Honourable Isiaka Kazeem commended Alarape for identifying with his constituents and bringing dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of his constituents.
Kazeem also revealed that Alarape and himself facilitated the construction of Oroki-Gedu-Sabo Road to the constituency for easy transportation system across the communities in the two constituencies.

Earlier in his address, APC Chairman in Atiba Local Government, Alhaji Ademola Adelowo, who eulogised the Minority Leader for his kind gestures, said Alarape’s wealth of experience through the the public offices he had held in the past as commissioner and speaker had assisted him to know how and when to take care of the electorate, politicians, party leaders, party members and other stakeholders.
He charged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise all the items they were given while also appealing to those who have not benefited to exercise patient as he said it will soon be their turn.
The highlight of the event was the special attention given to the physically challenged people who were given cash gifts and other items to make living a lot easier for them. The people living with various forms of disability expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker for not looking down on them and for not neglecting despite many huge responsibilities on his shoulder.
The lawmaker also distributed school sandals to the pupils of Oke-Olola Primary School where the empowerment programme took place, urging them to face their education squarely for better future.
Many APC members including youths, women and the elderly graced occasion and expressed their happiness and future support for the Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
