Former Minister of State for FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide has felicitated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State over his re-election victory.

in a congratulatory message sent to the journalists in Ibadan on Sunday, Oloye Akinjide said she has never for a single moment been in doubt of the landslide electoral victory recorded at the just concluded polls by Governor Seyi Makinde based on his record breaking performance in office during his first tenure which the masses have rewarded with their solidarity.

It would be recalled that INEC returning officer, Professor Adedayo Bamire of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, declared PDP’s Makinde winner of the election after polling 563, 756 votes to defeat APC’s Folarin who garnered 256, 685 votes to claim second position while the Accord Party candidate, Adebayo Adelabu trailed behind the two of them with meagre 38, 357 votes.

According to the results as announced by the INEC, the ruling PDP won in 32 local government areas while APC won in only one. The returning officer broke down the results of the party candidates as follows:

Accord Party: 38, 357

In the meantime, Oloye Akinjide also advised the Governor to use the second term opportunity that God just gave him to mend the walls with aggrieved party leaders and members. She stressed that people will deliberately contribute their quota to the development of the state in a peaceful atmosphere.

“Please use this second term to mend fences with all party leaders and members in order to build a united party in which everybody will have a sense of place to contribute their quota to the development of our beloved Oyo State.” She stated.
