The Executive Chairman Ibadan of North West Local Government, Hon. Rahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has rejoiced with all Muslims in Oyo State, most especially Ibadan North West citizens across the globe on the celebration of this year’s Eidel-Kabir festival.
Hon. Adepoju also appreciated God for the privilege to witness the festival in spite of the security and economy challenges facing the country.
The Chairman extends his felicitation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Governor Abiodun Oluseyi Makinde and his cabinet; The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr.) Mohood Ishola Olalekan Balogun; the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdul-Ganeey Agbotomokekere; league of Imams and Alfas, political leaders of his council, among others.
He equally extended his greetings to the National Vice Chairman South West PDP- Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, Alhaja Yeye Modinat Bosede Adedibu, the PDP South West Woman Leader, the Oyo State PDP Party Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro and Oyo State PDP Party Secretary, Hon. Wasiu Adeleke.
Hon. Adepoju called on good people of Oyo State to use this festive period to pray for continuity of meaningful administration of Governor Seyi Makinde as the Executive Governor till 2027.
According to a statement signed and released by the Council’s Head of Information Unit, Folashade Oduola, the Council Chairman also called on the residents of Ibadan North West to celebrate modestly and also informed them that street party or carnival is not allowed during and after this festive period within the council.
Oduola also said the Chairman advised well-meaning Nigerians on the need to embrace unity, love, charity, sacrifice, generosity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among themselves to reflect the lesson of Eidel-Kabir.
