State Government of Osun has called on the residents and visitors to the state to take responsibility for their personal protection as they join the rest of the world in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
This call was made by the Director-General of the Bureau of Social Services, Mr. Richard Tinubu in a message personally signed to felicitate Christians and non-Christians in the state on the occasion of this year’s Christmas and New Year celebrations.
According to the DG, the state government remains committed to protection of lives from Coronavirus pandemic that is widely spreading in its second wave.
Mr. Tinubu congratulated residents of the state and Nigerians in general for surviving the twin ugly disasters of Covid-19 pandemic and the #EndSars protest that nearly grounded the nation to her knees.
While wishing them a merry Christmas and happy New Year 2021, Mr. Tinubu enjoined members of the public to prioritize their personal protection against Coronavirus by wearing their face masks at all times and avoiding unnecessary gathering before, during and after the yuletide.
He used the occasion to appeal to parents and guardians to take good care of their children and wards during the holiday period.
The DG equally admonished people to avoid unnecessary journeys, wash their hands regularly with soaps and water and maintain social distancing, saying that clustering together in a crowd could aggravate spread of the second wave of the novel Coronavirus.
