President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII, Chief Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole has called for calm from the people of Ibadan on their concerns on the Agodi Gardens issue as his leadership is engaging the government constructively to achieve the greatest benefit for Ibadan and the state in general.
Chief Ajewole made the declaration on Sunday 17th December while featuring on a Programme “Agbami Oselu'” on Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan
The CCII President General explained that it was not out of place for people to express themselves and demand clearer explanations from government on its steps and activities especially with the decision on Agodi Gardens, he however urged the people to give room for constructive engagement in order to arrive at a meaningful end.
He assured the people of Ibadan that the present leadership of CCII would leave no stone unturned to see to the improvement of the standard of living of its people.
He also maintained that with the quantity and quality of good efforts and showings of the Government of Engr. Seyi Makinde, it is certain that the government will not do anything that will negativitely affect its rating in the estimation of the good people of Ibadanland and Oyo state in general.
“Governor Seyi Makinde is a true son of Ibadanland, a respectable citizen of Oyo state, he loves Ibadan, he demonstrates the love at all times and on all fronts, I believe he would listen to the concerns of our people and offer explanations where and when necessary to clear areas of misconception and misunderstanding ” the President General added.
He reminded the people of the city of the promise he made while campaigning and upon assumption of office to ensure completion of the Olubadan Palace, ‘ I give Glory to Almighty God, he has answered our prayer, I can confidentiality say that the palace will be ready in the next few weeks, work is going on at the palace everyday, our father, the Olubadan of Ibadanland will move into the palace very soon. I am grateful to God and the good people of Ibadanland for making this dream come true” he declared.
Chief Ajewole also used the opportunity of the programme to condole the immediate family and the entire people of Ibadan on the demise of the legendary Ewi exponent, Chief Lanrewaju Adepoju, he appreciated God for the wonderful impact Chief Lanrewaju Adepoju made in his time with his craft and that Ibadan will remember him for being a proud son.
