In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the growth and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes CCII has honoured Chief Mrs Idowu Laide Lawal with the prestigious “Grand Ambassador of Ibadan Culture” award.
The event was marked by fanfare and celebration as Mrs. Idowu was lauded for her unwavering commitment to promoting and preserving the cultural legacy of Ibadan.
Speaking at the award presentation, the Chairman, 2024 Ibadan Cultural Festival Planning Committee, Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola highlighted Mrs. Idowu Lawal “s remarkable dedication and significant impact on the cultural landscape of Ibadan. He emphasized her pivotal role in fostering a deeper appreciation for the traditions, customs, and values that define the essence of Ibadan culture.
Chief Mrs Lawal , who is also the Iyalode of Ladunni, former Social Secretary and member of Board of Trustees of CCII has tirelessly championed the cause of preserving and promoting the unique cultural heritage of Ibadan. Her passion, vision, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on our community. It is with great pride and gratitude that we bestow upon her the title of Grand Ambassador of Ibadan Culture,” Balogun Ojetola remarked.
In her acceptance speech, Chief Mrs. Lawal expressed her profound gratitude for the prestigious honour and reiterated her commitment to advancing the cultural legacy of Ibadan. She emphasized the importance of preserving the traditions and customs that have been woven into the fabric of Ibadan society for generations.
