After two days of drama and suspense, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Adamawa State governorship election, Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, has won his reelection bid.
Fintiri garnered 430,869 votes to defeat his closest challenger and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aisha Ahmed Binani, who scored 398,788 votes.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Mohammed Mele, formally declared the incumbent Governor Fintiri, who was first elected governor in 2019, as winner of the election after all the drama and suspense.
