The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof Timothy Adebayo, has commended the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of the university’s governing council, Dr Olutoyin Okeowo, for his commitment to the development of the university.
Adebayo expressed the commendation in the speech he read at the institution’s 16th convocation ceremony on Wednesday, saying that the new senate building being constructed by Okeowo would had elegance and class to the architectural landscape of the university when completed.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman said the university is committed to full digital transformation with focus on robust internet connectivity.
He described the move as a revolution that will ensure that ACU remain competitive on a global stage, transforming its campus into a vibrant, modern digital landscape.
Some of the council’s commitment according to him are fostering inclusive and welcoming university environment, attracting endowments for professorial chairs and securing grants to support research and scholarship.
At the ceremony, a total of 1934 graduands were awarded first degree certificates, with 86 of them finishing in the first class category.
Smith-Olunloye Durotoluwa from the department of economics was declared the best graduating student with 4.95 Cumulative Grade point Average (CGPA).
