Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Olukayode Ariwoola; Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN); and many other prominent legal icons in the country are set to attend the Ibadan Bar’s 70th anniversary and the NBA Ibadan branch Law Week.
This was disclosed to newsmen during a press conference to kickstart the six-day event in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital by the former Commissioner for Justice in the state, Mr Adebayo Ojo (SAN).
According to Ojo, Chief Olanipekun, who is the keynote speaker, will treat the topic, “Law, Legal Practice and Development, while Justice Ariwoola will preside over the event on Monday.
Ojo added that Ebun-Olu Adegoruwa (SAN) will speak on the topic titled, “The Tinubu Administration’s Economic Agenda and Policy. How far so far?”
Also expected at the event are Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of Ondo and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Ojo, who described the NBA Ibadan branch as one of the most important in the country, said the Ibadan NBA branch had produced eminent lawyers and several Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
Another prominent lawyer at the event, Dr. Festus Adedayo urged journalists in the state to actively participate, seeking the support of men of the pen profession to ensure successful outing with the all the programmes.
Other prominent lawyers at the press conference include Barrister Abdulfatai Oyedeji, Dr. Festus Adedayo and Barrister Shola Adeyemo among others.
