…Celebrate Exceptional Students at Valedictory Programme
In an attempt to give back to the society by playing active roles in reversing the dwindling fortune of healthy academic competition among secondary schools students in Oyo State, the alumni of Ansarudeen Society Comprehensive High School Ilero brighten the dimmed culture of healthy academic competition in their alma mater.
This was done through celebration of outstanding students in all classes and across all subjects with huge amount of money and educational materials running into hundreds of thousands of naira.
At the valedictory programme for graduating students of the school and prize giving day championed by the Old Students Association, held on 2nd of August, 2024, outstanding students both in learning and character were honoured handsomely by members of the Old Students.
Speaking to the Parents, Teachers and students of the institution of high reputation, Engr. Gazali Wale Ismail, the President of the Old Students said the general objectives of the initiative is to rekindle the passion for education once burned so brightly in the school. He said “it is our fervent hope that by honouring the academic excellence and dedication we witness today, we can inspire a renewed spirit of learning and healthy competition among our current students”.
He regretted the decline in the enthusiasm for education in recent years, promising the management and staff of the school that ADS Old Students will continue to partner with them to achieve the best.
Earlier, Principal of the School, Mr Salami Mufutau Ogunsola expressed appreciation to the Old Students Association for the sustained partnership over the years, just as he recognized the strong commitment of the teachers, parents and the adaptable ability of the students all through the years.
The PTA Chairman of ADS Comprehensive High School Ilero, Alhaji Abdullahi Owolabi profoundly thanked the old students association for the giant stride , advising the students to always aim high and shoot high to attain the best in life.
Other stakeholders encouraged the students especially the graduands to set their priority right, and take God as the bedrock of success.
Thereafter, prizes and certificates of merit were presented to the outstanding students across the classes to the admiration of all.
In the exercise, exemplary character, academic excellence and sporting prowess formed the bases for the selection.
