An Ibadan-based company, Ticket-to-Home has launched a platform for people to become house owners with just ₦2000 in the state capital.
Consultant to Ticket-to-Home, Dr. Oladiji Micheal while addressing journalists during the launch of the platform stated that having a house over one’s head is a basic necessity regardless of individual’s cocio-economic status.
He said that the company is moved by the vision to ensure that everybody becomes house owner. Dr. Michael, who described the platform launch as a democratization of house ownership, said people can become house owners through Ticket-to-Home by just logging into the company’s website, putting in one’s details and pay a token amount of ₦2000 to stand a chance of owning a fully built house.
“Yes, it’s a lottery, but driven by technology. It’s different from conventional lottery that we are used to. This is a system that’s 100% driven by technology.
“It doesn’t have any bias. You pay ₦2000, you register your details on the website and you have a chance to win a fully built home.” He stated.
When asked how the platform can contribute to the development of Oyo State in terms of addressing house deficit in the state, Dr. Michael noted that only the upper class and middle class can afford to build houses, stressing that Ticket-to-Home has come to bridge the gap.
He described having a roof over one’s head as a human basic physiological need.
“If everybody has a home, this will go a long way to reduce social vices, because you can’t even think right if you don’t have a home. And we want to ensure that everybody has a home in as much as you are also ready to take action.
“Incidentally, we have the support of the Oyo State Gaming Board and the partnership has been very impressive. We just want to encourage Oyo State Government to continue to support initiative that help with solving our housing deficit.” He stated.
He added that the houses are three-bedroom flats already built located in choice areas like Bodija.
“With this round we are doing, somebody will have a privilege to win a three-bedroom flat. We are starting with Oyo State, but it’s a national initiative.” Dr. Michael added.
The company also moved around major areas of Ibadan today for a road show to sensitize people about the opportunity being offered by the company.
