Ace broadcaster, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulganeey, popularly known as Mr GRA, has declared his interest in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency vacant seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

It would be recalled that the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat became vacant following the demise of late Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, popularly called Jagaban which happened on July 10, 2024.
Mr GRA, who acknowledged the late Jagaban’s impacts and achievements in the Ibadan North Federal federal Constituency, said he is vying for the seat to contribute to the development of his immediate environment.
“I want to contribute my quota to the development of my people. I will influence policies from the executive arm of government, sponsor bills and lobby legislators to bring development to my people,” he said.
Mr GRA, who was a frontline aspirant for Oyo State House of Assembly in Ibadan North Constituency I in 2019 and 2023 respectively, said he is offering himself as a suitable replacement with the capacity and goodwill to deliver and ensure his constituents enjoy the necessary dividends of democracy.
He noted that his entry into the contest was to heed the call from constituents who are asking him to run for the position.
While expressing optimism about picking the APC ticket, Mr GRA said: “You do your best and hope for divine intervention. Popularity is part of my strength. Constituents are my fans and irrespective of political affiliation, they are the ones urging me to run.”
He added: “GRA is a person of the people, I am a grassroots politician. I have facilitated projects to communities, and God sees my heart, it was not for any political gain.”
The APC chieftain appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the ongoing economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu-led administration, noting that the benefits will be substantial in the long term.
He also admonished APC members in Oyo State to remain committed, united and advance strategies that will make the party emerge victorious in the forthcoming bye-elections.
