Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has sent names of nominees for the Board of the Oyo State Anti-corruption Agency to the State House of Assembly for screening and approval.
The Governor made the request in a letter forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly and read by the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin.
The nominees are Justice Eni Esan, a retired President of Oyo State Customary Court as Chairman, Oyebade Oyedepo, ICAN Representative as
Member, Barrister Temitope Ayorinde as
Member and Esther Olapade as
Member.
Others are A. S. Ashaolu, a representative of DSS as Member, CSP Eyindero Lawrence, a representative of Nigeria Police Force as Member and
Ibrahim Oyemonla Tijani, a Director at the state Ministry of Justice as
Secretary.
The Governor noted that the nominees were selected based on their track records and urged the House to screen and confirm their appointment.
The Speaker, after reading the letter, directed the nominees to appear before the House on Friday 18th of December, 2020 for screening.
It would be recalled that the House has passed the law creating the anti-corruption agency following the executive bill sent to the House by the Governor. It is an effort to domesticate the anti-corruption crusade of the government. The agency, when passed, will perform duties similar to those of EFCC and ICPC.
