National Chairman of National Conscience Party (NCP), Dr. Yunusa Salisu Tanko, the executive members and other members of the party on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Comrade Segun Sango who passed on at the age of 64 on the 23rd of May, 2022 during a brief illness.

Comrade Sango was buried on the 24th of July 2022 at Atan Cementary, Yaba Lagos at exactly 3pm after Lying-in-State and Tribute Session at Jelili Adebisi Multipurpose Hall – A, University of Lagos, Akoka-Lagos. The Lying-in-State and Tribute Session were followed immediately by Funeral Procession from UNILAG to Atan Cementary Yaba-Lagos.

On the entourage of Dr. Tanko during the condolence meeting were Comrade Tunde Agunbiade and Comrade Ibrahim Adelabu who were received by the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Itunu Segun Sango and her lovely sons.

In his condolence message, Dr. Tanko described the passage of Comrade Sango as a rude shock and a huge loss to the NCP and Nigeria entirely.

His speech: “The National Conscience Party (NCP) received with shock the news of the death of Comrade Segun Sango, a revolutionist per excellence, consistent socialist, uncompromising class fighter and the defender of defenceless and voice for the voiceless.

“Segun Sango or Sango as we fondly called him, was once the NCP Lagos State Chairperson.

“Undeniably the Party witnessed unprecedented growth in membership and profile particularly in Lagos state and he impacted positively to the other states of the federation.

“In fact under his tutelage and the ever conscious members of Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM), their Secretariat was the rallying point for struggles and beehive of the activities of National Conscience Party (NCP).

“Segun Sango’s sterling role in shaping and building mass support for National Conscience Party (NCP) as Party of struggle in action and consciousness of the working class, the students, artisans, traders and other oppressed people were unparalleled in the annal of history of our party.

“The sudden and unexpected death of Comrade Segun Sango is a monumental loss to revolutionary movement, students, working class and the oppressed people in Nigeria, particularly at this time we need true patriots and inspiring leadership to emancipate the masses from abject poverty, miseries insecurity and misrule of the present occupiers of Aso Rock.

“We shall definitely miss Segun Sango. We therefore commiserate with JAF, DSM, RSM and all revolutionary groups. Our condolences to Comrade Tinuade Aderemi, the lovely and loyal wife of our leader, friends, family and Citipoinr Chambers.

“May God Almighty Allah be their strength and May the soul of Comrade Segun Aderemi Sango rest in Power .

In her response, Mrs. Itunu Segun Sango who received Dr. Tanko and his entourage warmly, thanked them for the supports, words of encouragement and show of love for her family.
