An Ogun State-based socio-cultural organisation, OSM has written President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the appointment of prominent elder statesman, Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem, popularly called Sukazeem for the Chairman, South-West Development Commission.

The group, in a release on Tuesday and signed by its Acting Chairman, Saheed Ojebiyi, said the call by the group is in line with the contributions of Alhaji Kazeem to the of South-West Nigeria.
Ogun State Solidarity Movement (OSM) in the statement further attributed the role played by Alhaji Kazeem, who was a close associate of late Bashorun M.K.O Abiola during the June 12, 1993 crisis as another reason for it’s call.
It added that Kazeem understands all events that led the crisis of the time and played a vital role because of his closeness to the late business mogul.
It stated that the Chairman of the Commission should not necessarily be based on party affliations but patriotism and love for the southwest region.
It further stressed that before now, Sukazeem, as he is fondly called, has been in the forefront of development of the South-West region even though he’s not a member of any existing political parties.
The group expressed its readiness to lead a call and effort to ensure the success of the Commission if Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem is appointed into the position.
