Security agencies in Oyo State have been advised to give prioritise their attention to the maintenance of operation vehicles and other infrastructural facilities provided for them by government and individuals.

The Chairman, Ona-Ara Local Government, Honourable Musibau Sanusi (a.k.a Shaba) gave the advice at the inauguration of a Security Post built by Binukonu and it’s environs at Thy Will Bus Stop, along Akanran Road.
The Chairman stressed that the serious attention given by Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration was responsible for the provision of several vehicles to Security Agencies periodically.
He noted that security challenges in Oyo and other neighbouring states nececitated the initiative of the Amotekun Corps by Governor Makinde, an idea which had effected some reliefs in the South West.
Earlier in his remark, a former Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Taiwo Oke had enjoined operators of the Security Post to try to be civil in the discharge of their duties.
Hon. Oke specifically urged them to avoid exploitation of people of the community by some security personnel who were in the habit of extorting motorists, okada riders, tricycle operators and indiscriminate raid usually termed as ROGA by a section of security personnel.
Also in his own address, a Community Leader in the area and former General Manager, Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure, Deacon Femi Oladipo had underscored the significance of mutual relationship between communities and security agencies.
Deacon Oladipo charged various executives of communities in the area to familiarize themselves with activities of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to be abreast of the roles of the people and security agencies.
He recalled that the various security measures adopted in Yorubaland before the advent of colonial administration helped in checking criminal activities in the society, stressing that such strategies should be put in place through proper upbringing of children and reorientation of youths.
Highlights of the occasion was the cutting of the tape to declare the building open for use by a Team of Operation Burst.
The event was witnessed by members of the Executives of Ona-Ara Local Government Council and a number of traditional rulers in the area.
