The death has occurred of Mrs. James Bamigbose Oluwafunmilayo, a member of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC)’s Supporters Club.
Late Mrs. James, popularly known as Iya Pupa, aged 77, was said to have given up the ghost, on Sunday evening, during a brief illness.
Reacting to her demise, General Manager of 3SC, Rasheed Balogun, expressed sorrow over the sad development, saying that the club has lost one of its strongest backer.
“Iya Pupa was one of the strongest and vociferous member of the supporters club. She was a very active and nice woman who supported the club wholeheartedly.
“It is very painful to hear that such a great backer of our darling club is gone. Apart from being one of the strongest voice in the supporters club, she was a nice woman.
“She will be missed by all. On behalf of the entire 3SC, I commiserate with her immediate family and members of the Supporters Club. It is my prayer that God will grant her gentle soul, eternal rest,” stated the 3SC boss.
A statement signed by the Media Officer of 3SC, Tosin Omojola, the Chairman, Oyo State General Sports Supporters Club, Mr. Femi Oyeniyi and the chairman of Shooting Stars Supporters Club, Comrade Lateef Femi-Ajala described Iya Pupa’s death as painful, saying that she will be greatly missed by the supporters club and the team.
