The Ibadan Mega Voice, IMV, on Thursday paid a courtesy call to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, as their second anniversary kicks off.
Speaking at the new ultramodern Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, IMV’s President, Prince Kola Olomide, explained that the Ibadan Mega Voice is a body of renowned Ibadan indigenes of over 50 members who are into professional media practice within and outside Nigeria.
The president, who was represented by his vice, Mr.Tunji Aborisade said the IMV’s visit demonstrated their commitment to honouring Ibadan’s cultural heritage and tradition, adding that the royal blessing received from Olubadan is a testament to the organization’s positive impact and contributions to the Ibadanland at large.
He stated further that the group seeks to form a conglomerate of Ibadan indigenes who put Ibadan’s interest first.
According to him, As we are beginning our second anniversary ceremony, we have deemed it fit to lend our voice as professionals in different fields of Mass Communication to the development of our city”.
“We see this as a divine call, Kabiyesi and we have come for your divine blessings, so that God will direct our affairs”.
The monarch, who spoke through, the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Akeem Adewoyin remarked that Ibadan is lucky to have a group of professionals, such as Ibadan Mega Voice.
He said he was surprised at the intellectual capacity of members of the group, he prayed to God to lead the group right in its aspirations.
