Professor Taoheed Adedoja, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State and former Minister for Sports and Special Duties, has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Chief Michael Koleoso, a renowned figure in Oyo State politics, who died recently at the age of 86.

In a condolence message to the family, Prof Adedoja fondly remembered the significant role Chief Koleoso played, alongside the late Governor Lam Adeshina, in his emergence as the Action Congress (AC) governorship candidate in Oyo State in 2007. He specifically acknowledged Chief Koleoso’s efforts in mobilizing leaders and grassroots politicians in the Okeogun zone during the 2007 campaign.

Prof Adedoja also recalled that Chief Koleoso’s junior brother, the late Senator Robert Koleoso, was his running mate in the 1998 governorship election under the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) during the late General Sanni Abacha’s military regime.

“My family, political associates, and I will forever remember Chief Michael Koleoso. He was a likeable person, a grassroots mobilizer, and elder statesman whose political influence extended beyond Okeogun, radiating throughout Oyo State’s political landscape.”
