Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has pledged to continuously support the state Security Agencies in maintaining peace and order, in the state, and beyond.

The Governor gave the assurance while hosting the new State Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat who paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Thursday.

The State Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal received the new Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat on behalf of the state Governor.

In his remarks, Governor Makinde commended the state Police Command and other state Security Agencies for combating kidnapping and other vices, most especially in border areas of Oke Ogun and Ibarapa zone of the state.

He noted that infiltration of illegal miners into the country has really contributed to security challenges in the country.

Governor Makinde also used the medium to appeal to any aggrieved members of the public to maintain peace and report their agitations to the appropriate authorities.

Earlier in his address, the State Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, Commended Governor Makinde for being supportive to the state Police Command in discharging their statutory duties, pledging that he would never relent in ensuring that the state maintains it peaceful statue.

The event had in attendance the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Segun Olayiwola and some State Security advisers.
